Woody and Jessie Birthday Cake

Well hello there friends! And Dad! My how time flies! Remember when I used to be an awesome mom and make super cool cakes for each of the kids' birthdays? You know, Star Wars and Cars and Girly Pirates and whatnot? Well, this year turned out a bit differently. We had a combined family party in June to split the difference of Ethan's May birthday with Elliot's July. And trust me, one cake was more than enough this year!

So since we were trying to combine the interests of a 5-year old boy with a 7-year old girl, we had to find a cake theme that would appeal to both kiddos. Actually, that's not true at all. My mom and I just wanted to make a cake with black and white cow spots to serve on red bandanna paper plates. We didn't actually ask for the kids' input at all.
Side note: I ordered those little figurines online to use as a cake topper, and the dimensions listed were not even close to accurate. Lesson learned: items on amazon are not as large as they might appear. Oh well...if you look closely, you can almost tell that those minuscule pieces of plastic are Woody and Jessie. I think they enjoyed their cake anyway!

Even more importantly, they enjoyed some play time with their cousins and another great family get-together.
(Oh, and their new video games from grandma and grandpa...that might have been the best part of all ;)

No, I think it's great that Woody and Jessie are so small...proportionately speaking, that just makes your cake look GIGANTIC! ;-)

Well done, Mama. You've earned back your 'Cool Mom' badge.
