She had gone to the father/daughter dance hosted by our previous church a few times before, and while she always had a nice time, in some ways I think it was sort of a let down. It was so large and overwhelming, and she never managed to find any other girls she knew. After a few dances, she usually asked to leave and just go have ice cream with daddy. And the dance was always on a weeknight, which meant I was rushing home from work to see her off and missed out on helping her get ready. (I think that's one of the most exciting parts!)
Not this year! This time, we enjoyed a whole afternoon of mommy-daughter pampering, before she slipped into her gorgeous dress. My mom made her dress, and I must say, I think this was my favorite one yet.
After she got all dolled up, we went over to meet up with her entire troop of girl scout friends. We have had such a positive experience with the Daisies this year, and I'm so thankful for the girls and the moms we've met through Troop 1460. These are some truly awesome little girls!
The young ladies posed for some pictures...
And then learned about a special surprise that was awaiting them...
A ride to the dance in a limo!! There was a lot of squealing and jumping when the big surprise was revealed.

It looked just like prom! That is awesome. And the limo...? So fun!!! In fact, that would be a great birthday party idea. Who needs a bounce house?!?!
And that dress is a.maz.ing. WOW - to have your mother's talent. Seriously!
Cuteness overload! That dress was beautiful, as was the little sweetheart who was wearing it. What a fun memory for her (and her parents) to have! :)
