Arm and Hammer To The Rescue

I'm not going to lie...I look pretty darn good today. I am just rocking some bouncy, vibrant, smooth, soft, glossy, and well-behaved hair. I know! Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!

I wasn't looking so hot this weekend, though. I noticed that even after a thorough shampoo, my hair was lackluster, flat, and just plain icky.

So this morning, I lathered up with my normal shampoo (I use whatever is on sale at the Walmarts) and then worked in about a tablespoon of baking soda. Voila! Now my hair looks like I just stepped out of a salon!

What?!? Are you serious? Baking soda? I mean, I'll take your word for it if you're serious, but that sounds a little crazy! (Although I might just try it myself!)

Baking soda is a BIG part of our lives here! I use it as an eco-friendly version of Vanish Oxy Action in the laundry (also helps keep sweaty-clothes-smell at bay), I scour the kitchen and bathroom with it, the list goes on and on.

And because I can only buy it in quantities of about a cup at a time here, when I'm back in the States in the summer, I get pool-usage-sized bags from Sam's Club and haul them back in my suitcase .... all 12lbs at a time!

I'll try your shampoo tip tomorrow. If you want a trade-off of tips, try using plain white vinegar instead of traditional fabric softener. It's eco-friendly, keeps your machine clean, rids your clothes of remaining soap residue, and does NOT leave anything smelling like salad dressing.

Happy eco-treatmenting! (totally a word)

Yep. Baking soda is great for lots of things. I've tried it in my hair, and I've also used it to clean the bathroom (works great) and in the laundry. Like DutchMac said, the list goes on and on.

Oh, and for the record, your hair always looks terrific. Honest!
